Bavarian Mountain Hounds

Uniqueness of the Bavarian

1. Bred for blood trailing

2 A better companion is hard to find

3. High Breed Standards

4. Athletic Breed

5. Running aside when stormed

6. Fetches the hunter when the buck is found

7. A baying hound

8. A big game hound

9. Medium Sized Hound

This breed has been bred to find big game in harsh conditions.  The breed standard is also very high.  Personally, I find it is very important to use a breed that has good companionship and the Bavarian surprised me with excellence in this.

My original breeding lines come from one of the hunting farms of the Blaser Group in Namibia.

My new line also comes out of Namibia, from a breeder that has the same breeding vision as me.  They also do Game retrieving and man tracking with their Bavarian Hounds.  My breeding aim is always to have better scenting ability, drive, and big game ability, but not losing any of the other attributes.

Many of my clients that have purchased dogs from me, comes back and buys a pup for family member that are not even into the hunting game.  The other attribute that also stands out for the Bavarian Mountain Hound is how they track.  Tracking slowly and precisely so that you can make sure you are on the right track by spotting blood, and the hunters can keep up with the dog.  BUT… when you realize it has the ability and agility to be one of the fastest baying hounds.
