Bloodhounds
Bloodhounds are a large breed hound that were originally bred in Eastern Europe for hunting deer, rabbits and foxes, but are widely and globally used to hunt all kinds of animals. They are excellent trackers and highly intelligent companions.
When it comes to man tracking, nothing can keep up with a bloodhound or blood hound cross breads. The 2 kinds of hounds that I cross breed is an English Bloodhound and a Blue Ticks (Grand Blue de Gascogne). I find it to be a very good combination in Africa.
We normally use them for man tracking on a leash and off the leash because of their high scenting ability and they are also used in cat packs (leopards etc.).
Attributes:
- Willingness to track people on a leash
- Driven
- High scenting abilities
- More heat resistant
- More athletic
- More confident
- Can be a good watch dog as well!
My Breeding Lines
My Blue Tick breeds comes from the most proven Blue Tick (Grand Blue de Gascogne) breeder in South Africa. I have put in a huge amount of effort to determine which anti-poaching blood lines are used to bread my Bloodhounds.
